Designing with Light & Energy in Mind
Paired with rooftop solar, the home generates more energy than it consumes each year, achieving a Net Positive balance.
Windows were strategically placed to maximize daylight and efficiency. Reflected light deepens the interior brightness, while a rear light shelf shades summer sun and captures winter warmth. A planned battery backup will store excess power, extending the home’s energy independence beyond daylight hours.

considering accessibility & performance
Because the house is all-electric, there are no onsite CO2 emissions.
The home’s first floor is designed for accessibility, with wide hallways, a zero-threshold shower, and a flexible office that easily converts to a bedroom suite. All-electric systems eliminate onsite carbon emissions, while a vapor fireplace creates ambiance without the footprint. Thoughtful details, like oversized gutters, hurricane straps, and an elevated foundation, ensure resilience against the Midwest’s changing climate.
